The Clan of Saar
I call these guys the beast men. The Clan of Saar is one of the races that was added by the Shattered Realms expansion pack. These guys are fun to play. If you choose them they must be played in a specific way but if done right the universe is easy to take over. The biggest advantage they have is that their space docks can move. This is a fantastic ability. If you have one of those secret objectives saying that you have a space dock around Mectal Rex this is the race you want. Move your Space Dock slowly towards the center than make that final move to get your secret objective. Be sure to keep a large ship presence with your dock and you should be fine. A moving space dock scares other players. The other abilities they have is that they can lose their homeworld and still fulfill objectives. Also be sure to take that extra trade good when you take a planet. This is easily forgotten so be sure that when you take a world you get that trade good.
They start with 2 carriers and 4 ground forces so you are ready to start conquering right from the get go. They also start with XRD’s so carriers can move two spaces right from the start. Usually in Twilight you try to get those planets closest to your home world first. Any race that starts with XRD’s should go get the furthest out planets they can reach that first turn. You can always backtrack to get those closer.
Strategically build a large space presence to escort your space docks and move them around the board. Cross your fingers and hope you get a Secret Objective involving Mectal Rex and a space dock. Keep your docks on your boarder (with good escort of course) so that you can get troops right into the thick of things quickly.
